Good Day, Siddig M. T. Hamza!

I appreciate your fine examples for this topic.

I can see the need for standard terminology and nomenclature.  The SI
(Metric System) is much easier to understand than the SAE (British Imperial
and US Customary).  However, standard units (quantitative) are easier to
define than descriptive terms (qualitative).

An interesting example of a step in the direction of uniform terms is the
SNOMED CT:

•  By using numbers to represent medical concepts, SNOMED CT provides a
standard by which medical conditions and symptoms can be referred,
eliminating the confusion that may result from the use of regional or
colloquial terms.

Some other examples for consideration are posted at:

http://technav.ieee.org/tag/3433/nomenclature
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_nomenclature
http://cstools.asme.org/csconnect/pdf/CommitteeFiles/30197.pdf
http://www.wwdforum.com/uploads/4/DGTTN-2008-05-03.pdf
http://www.fda.gov/Drugs/DevelopmentApprovalProcess/FormsSubmissionRequirements/ElectronicSubmissions/DataStandardsManualmonographs/default.htm

Perhaps we would benefit from having a dictionary of terms for TVET.
However, I believe that we can best minimize confusion by keeping
statements as simple as possible.  We become our own worst enemies when we
write in the ostentatious style of academics.

Thanks again for your post.  I really enjoyed reading it.

Yours,
Damian
