Dear Helga,

Your intervention is always a breath of freshness in our e-forum
discussions. Thanks to bring some realism to the proposed vision. We are
dealing with a new frontier. President Kennedy is quoted for saying: "We
stand today on the edge of a new frontier, ... a frontier of unknown
opportunities and paths, a frontier of unfulfilled hopes and threats....
The new frontier... is not a set of promises, it is a set of challenges

This is still true today. We need to be "Frontier Thinkers" so that we can
extend our outlook to the future as much as we can. Now that you have
raised these issues, I have a feeling that we should use the strong
metaphoric sense of VISION 2020 to avoid blindness and lost of sight of
important issues that TVET will need to confront in the future.

We are now brainstorming for trends. When we get a sufficient number of
trends we can as a group decide which trends we can realistically include
in our visioning activity.
