Dear Moustafa,
From my perspective and in alliance with ILO and GTZ, the Informal Sector
of Economy is characterised by
• Ease of access (non regulated)
• Reliance on local/regional resources
• Family ownership/sole trader businesses/self-employment. Sometimes
work in cooperatives
• Small scale of operation
• Application of labour- intensive and aligned technologies
• Acquirement of skills outside the formal education sector
• Unregulated markets
• Low income
• No planning security

and the latest Action Plan for improving Informal Sector statistics in
Africa: http://www.uneca.org/statcom/2011/AGISActionPlan2012-2014.pdf
Basically I agree to all of your statements. Left are certain ideas and
questions:
Moustafa:>> 4. On the other hand, the Informal Sector of Economy is the
part of the economy that has no annual accounts, not taxed, not monitored
by any form of government, not belonging to the chamber of commerce and not
included in any Gross National Product GNP, unlike the Formal Sector of
Economy.<<
