Video: Code for America By The Numbers Watch Video Dear Civic Engagement community members, In light of the national "Occupy" movement, we've been having some great conversations on the cause about the power that protesting can have. But, there are a lot of ways to make change happen. A great nonprofit called "Code for America" recently put out this video describing the impact that their fellows have had so far this year. Code for America is a public service fellowship, dedicated to making government more open, efficient and participatory through technology. The basic philosophy is simple: recruit fellows who demonstrate a networked, web-centric, and open approach to problem-solving, and attach those fellows to a city for the year. Help them build relationships with a wide variety of city workers, and they can create great tech solutions to solve big city problems. Neat idea, right?
