Countdown for Nominations for the Wenhui Award for Educational Innovation
2011
The Wenhui Award for Educational Innovation 2011 is calling for
nominations to recognize the contributions of educators and institutions in
the Asia and Pacific region which have optimized the potential of education
and the human innovative spirit to address and resolve pressing issues and
problems facing our world today.
This year's theme, Education for Learning to Live Together, is aimed at
enhancing a culture of acceptance of differences, respect for diversity and
promotion of peace and harmony through innovative education practices.
Two individuals or institutions will be selected by a jury of
distinguished educators. The winners will each receive prize money of US$
20,000 and a Certificate of Excellence at the China Hangzhou International
Conference on Educational Innovations.
The closing date for nominations for the Award is 15 July 2011.
To ensure that your applications/nominations have a chance to win the
Award, please submit all relevant forms and supporting documents to the
Award Secretariat following the guidelines below.
• Nominations shall be submitted to the Award Secretariat at UNESCO
Bangkok through the National Commissions for UNESCO, UNESCO Offices, APEID
Associated Centres and other organizations associated with UNESCO, using an
official Award Application Form available online at
http://www.unescobkk.org/education/apeid/wenhuiaward2011.
• Each nomination must be accompanied by the following attachments:
o Description of the candidate's/institution's background and
achievements (1 page, A4 size, in English)
o Summary of work, publications and other relevant documents of major
importance (maximum of 4 pages, A4 size, in English)
o Evidence to support the nomination of the candidate (may be in English
or local language)
o Letter(s) of recommendation (in English or local languages)
o Consent form for use and distribution of materials (available online
at http://www.unescobkk.org/education/apeid/wenhuiaward2011)
• All nominations must reach the Award Secretariat at the address below
by 15 July 2011.
